So Much to Do, So Little Time

We went to Crown Center with a few friends last week. There's always so much to do there that it's hard to squeeze it all into one afternoon. We started out at Kaleidescope. Analise is one to run all over the place, but there was so much to do that she was content to sit and paint for most of the time. Necklaces, puzzles and flowers on a stick (I'm not sure how to describe them) were the favorites of the day. We could go there everyday and never get tired of it!
We stopped by a Lego exhibit for a few minutes, then off to Fritz's for milkshakes. For those who don't know, Fritz's has trains that circle the top of the restaurant and deliver the food to your table. It's always entertaining. We had to order the fries just to see the trains deliver our food.
Analise found the salt more entertaining than anything else. For some reason she's taken to throwing back salt in massive quantities. And when I mean throwing back I mean she takes the salt shaker and shakes it into her mouth. Her blood pressure must have been sky high by the time we left the restaurant.

Last stop: the fountains. When I worked at the building next to the fountains (many many years ago) I remember eating lunch at the tables with my co-workers and watching all the children. At the time I couldn't imagine having any of my own kids, much less watching them splashing in the water. How times have changed!
I even ran into friends from our old ward who had moved to Indiana and were back for the Hospital Hill Run the following day. Small world.
Some of the kids found a small area with muddy dirt and sand by the fountain to play in. I was so proud of Abs for resisting the urge to join in, but the temptation was too great. She buried herself in dirt. Then the fountains were turned off--and she was covered in dirt. I could only imagine having to clean the car out afterwards. Thankfully the fountains came on a few minutes later!
My side note to these pics is that they were all taken with my new camcorder while I was shooting video at the same time. Pretty amazing. I've been wanting a new camcorder for a while but couldn't justify spending the money. Our neighborhood garage sale came to the rescue. I've never held a garage sale, but it was worth taking stuff that we don't use anymore and turning it into a camcorder that I really wanted! The downside is that I didn't take any pics with my camera and since I'm still trying to get used to the camcorder I didn't take as many as I would have liked nor were they the best pics. But I'll get better!

  1. Looks like a blast!! I love all the free stuff at Crown Center...the fountains are always a favorite with us. I was going to schedule the lego exhibit for playgroup this week, is it worth the trip?
